Whew!

Yes, this was a great way to learn about what is happening, and to take the plunge fearlessly. I plan to explore further. The only question is finding the time. I definitely plan to go back to zoho and news podcasts. I no longer have a fear of blogging, and signed on to facebook during the tapas. I think a mobile device would make it easier to stay on top of these things. Flickr was the most fun, so many beautiful photos, but the wiki has a lot of potential for furthering communication. My surprise is that I had time to get through it (at least, I hope I got through it). Would love to see more participants. My thanks to Norma, Andrea and Bob for giving everyone this opportunity.

Podcasts

Looking at the titles for some podcasts was a little alarming, especially the alltime favorites. I was afraid to view them in the workplace, my oh my! I could spend a lot of time with these, especially the ones with news. Maybe I need an ipod so I can watch wherever I am. I like sky.com and will revisit it.

You Tube

You Tube is fun but has a lot of dreck. I posted a good jazz pianist because there aren't that many these days and there is less and less opportunity to hear good jazz musicians live. Was really sorry to read that the Newport and NYC jazz festivals won't happen this year. The festival sponsor is out of money. Vive le jazz!

Flickr bug

I was just looking at the most recent favorites on Flickr and there is a bug that looks very familiar. Now I know its name! Percevejos. Probably won't remember it though. These photos are so good, I could waste a lot of time doing this ... !

Favorites

Would anyone like to keep the tapas wiki open and ask those who are willing to keep posting favorites? I really enjoyed reading about favorite travel destinations.

Wikis

I'm very impressed with the way wikis can present a large amount of information in a way that is easily understood. I think the pie chart on the front of Dialog's Quantum 2 wiki is terrific. I am astounded at how much good information i s being put up on the Internet. Technology Tapas has given me a content as well as technology boost. I think there are many uses for wikis, including ones like ours for policies and the others for such things as special events like conferences and institutional wikis. The ability to post comments and suggestions and easily share information will likely give wikis a long lifespan. I don't know how to keep open multiple wikis, but this problem is likely cause by my lack of expertise with Windows!

Love the way Lee Lefevbre's explanations and graphics are so simple.

Clock

By the way, where is the clock? No way I posted to my blog at 6:57 a.m.!!

2.0 awards

Found imcooked.com under the "food" category. Has videos of how to prepare stuff. Looks helpful. Hope I have time to explore further, yum!

NYC Restaurants

Tried to export from Zoho Writer but ended up copying and pasting this:
I was asked by a staff member to recommend a few restaurants in New York. Last weekend I was at a very good and reasonable Mediterranean restaurant named Boyoglu (there's an accent on the "g" but couldn't find it under dropdown "insert special characters") at 1431 3rd Avenue, very convenient to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Two reasonable French restaurants are Tout Va Bien, 331 W 51st (theatre district), http://www.autoutvabien.com/, and Le Jardin Bistro, 25 Cleveland Place (near Spring and Lafayette streets) www.lejardinbistro.com (great creme brulee).

Yummy

I had signed up for del.icio.us a year or two ago and then sort of never got back to it. Like so many things 2.0 activities, it seemed to take time I didn't have. But after watching the podcast, I think I'll try again to see if I can make it work for me. For one thing, I hadn't explored the public tagging aspect.

RSS

While I understand what I am doing in theory, in practice I am having trouble navigating among the various web sites : technology tapas, blogger, blogspot, rss feeds. I hope this situation resolves itself because it is frustrating. So far, though, the frustration motivational. I hope this gets easier! Question: do blogger and blogspot intersect at any point? My blogroll is http://www.bloglines.com/public/cdaze

Habits

So far the most difficult habits for me are using technology to my advantage (I still want to reach for a pen and print things out!), and creating my own learning toolbox. I have to get a better idea of the toolbox idea. The e-world still seems diffuse to me -- so many URLs, so little time!

Tunes

Great tune behind week 2 podcast -- what is it?

Getting started

This is frustrating and fun at the same time. Many thanks to Andrea for her patience!
